Role Overview

Apply senior accounting and audit expertise to help a leading AI research team improve how advanced AI models reason through real-world accounting and audit work. You will define high-quality tasks, model answers, and evaluation standards that reflect professional practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Review accounting and audit knowledge-work tasks and model outputs for missing behaviors, weak reasoning, misapplied standards, unsupported accounting treatments, and conclusions that would not withstand partner review.
• Create detailed instruction specifications and golden solutions for accounting and audit problems.
• Develop new tasks that accurately reflect practical accounting and audit work.
• Design rigorous benchmarks and evaluation sets, and help develop domain-specific skills and tools with the research team.
• Collaborate with researchers and adjacent-domain specialists to calibrate standards and translate professional accounting judgment into clear, teachable criteria.

Qualifications

• Active professional credential such as CPA, CA, CIA, CFE, or CMA, plus a bachelor''s or master''s degree in accounting or a closely related field.
• At least 4 years of substantive accounting or audit experience at a recognized public accounting firm, corporate controllership or finance function, internal audit department, or regulator. Bookkeeping-only experience does not qualify.
• Specialization in at least one area, such as external audit and assurance, technical accounting and financial reporting under US GAAP or IFRS, internal audit and SOX controls, tax, forensic accounting and fraud examination, or revenue recognition.
• Demonstrated progression to a senior position such as Audit Manager, Senior Manager, Accounting Manager, Controller, Director of Accounting, or Partner, including ownership of engagements or reporting cycles.
• Practical experience using large language models in professional work and sound judgment to distinguish well-reasoned answers from plausible but incorrect ones.
• Excellent written communication skills and the ability to provide precise, well-structured feedback.

Work Terms

• Full-time W-2 employment, with a reliable commitment of 40 hours per week for an initial 6-month engagement.
• Hybrid position based in the Bay Area, California. On-site work with the client team is required multiple days each week when needed.
• Client-issued accounts and equipment will be provided, and work will take place in the client''s tools alongside its research teams.

Compensation

• $60 to $100 per hour.
